Welcome to Holy Nonsense, where we laugh at religious absurdity!
I see her point, and I understand it.
I even agree with some of it.
Yes, just because Christianity or whatever religion a person experienced doesn’t work out, that doesn’t mean that there’s no god.
I get that.
But I still can’t make myself believe something that I don’t.
Christianity being shitty doesn’t mean there’s no god, but wanting there to be a god doesn’t mean there is one, either.
This was my reply to Zsofia:
There’s no bathwater. There’s no tub.
I mean, if the bathwater is merely the concept of god, then all beliefs about everything are also in that bathwater, right?
Being an atheist isn’t saying “there’s absolutely zero percent chance of there being a god,” despite what theists think.
There are some atheists who say that, true, but it’s not the majority.
My goal is to quit my freelancing podcast editing services so that I can create better content to fight Christian nationalism. Every person who becomes a paid subscriber gets me closer to that goal. Are you in?
Remember: you don’t need a god to be good!

Blessed are the cherry pickers, for they shall always find only the flavorful fruit they seek.
My father, RIP, was a theologian. A gifted academic. A graduate from Union theological College, Belfast Ireland and a Doctorate from Midwestern Theological Seminary.
When I questioned him about proof of god, you can imagine the conversations and debates.
At the end of the day it would always come down to his faith. He actually said, “no one knows, but at least I’ve got my bases covered” - even as a 12 year old kid I knew that wasn’t “faith” and certainly not good enough evidence of a god.
